Assoc. Director / Director / Sr. Director of Finance



Celsius Therapeutics is seeking a Director of Finance who will lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, accounting, and senior management reporting to support key strategic and operational initiatives.  Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, this highly visible role will lead the development of the finance function in a rapidly growing organization, partnering and collaborating effectively with cross-functional colleagues on all financial analytics, planning and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and self-starter capable of generating and communicating insights and recommendations that facilitate informed management decisions.


  • Contribute to Celsius’ strategic planning by providing financial insights to the business
  • Lead Celsius’ financial planning and reporting processes, including preparation and presentation of annual budgets, forecast updates, scenario analyses, and long-range planning
  • Own, manage, and maintain corporate and operational financial models, including collaborating cross-functionally to coordinate inputs
  • Analyze projects, investments and costs and their impact on Celsius’ cash runway and fundraising considerations
  • Drive financial analyses for BD partnerships, projects to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies, and other ad hoc analyses
  • Oversee the work of an outsourced controller and all aspects of the general ledger, including accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
  • Ensure timely execution of the annual audit process, act as primary point of contact for external auditors and take the lead on any necessary corrective actions
  • Lead the development of accounting processes as company grows, including policies and procedures
  • Prepare executive level and board presentations with conclusions and recommendations in concise formats


  • Strong FP&A experience combined with a solid understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Financial modeling expertise including long range forecasting, DCF valuation models, and integrated financial statements.
  • Biotech/Pharma experience, including an understanding of therapeutic and/or diagnostic research and development
  • Able to think strategically, formulating actionable financial analyses and seeing them through
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable communicating and working directly with senior management and board
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience; MBA or CPA preferred
