Institute Member, Broad Institute
Kurt Isselbacher Professor of Medicine, HMS

Ramnik is Chief of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As a clinical gastroenterologist, Ramnik directs the center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). In his laboratory as a molecular biologist, he studies the specific molecular mechanisms involved in innate and adaptive immunity as well as the genetic variants associated with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and autoimmunity.

Ramnik’s laboratory is currently pursuing new methods to understand the relationship between microbes living in the human gut and autoimmunity to connect these patterns to human genetics.
